About

Archibong Offiong Ubom is a dynamic and result oriented Oil & Gas professional. He has over 33 years of local and international experience in the oil & gas industry in various capacities covering Field Operations, Drilling, Exploration, Appraisal Strategy, Development Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Hydrocarbon Maturation, Field Development Planning, Project Management, PG Discipline Coaching, Quality Assurance/Quality Control and Community Relations with the Shell Group, Pillar Oil Limited and as a private oil & gas consultant. These accomplishments span across land, swamp and offshore operations both locally and internationally.
While working with the Shell Group, Archibong also had a cross posting to Shell International Exploration & Production in Rijswijk, The Netherlands between 2007 and 2010. On this assignment, he became the Regional Hydrocarbon Maturation Consultant for Asia Pacific region of Shell operations responsible for Field Development activities in Shell Malaysia, Brunei and Australia.
Following his voluntary early retirement from the Shell group after 23 years, Archibong worked with the Pillar Oil Limited, the Operator of Umuseti/Igbuku Oil & Gas fields in Kwale, Delta State as the Chief Operating Officer [COO]. On this role, he provided strategic direction to the Technical functions: Petroleum Engineering/Subsurface Resource Base, Production Operations, Facilities Engineering & Projects for optimal business delivery. Archibong also provided strategic advisory to the CEO & BOD on business/operations and implemented strategies to create/sustain business value.
Archibong has been trained in various aspects of Oil & Gas and business including Technical, Management, Leadership, Supervision, Stakeholders Management, Community Relation, Government Relations and Health/Safety/Environment/Security Leadership.
A graduate of Geology from the University of Calabar, he is a member of both the Society of Petroleum Engineers [SPE] and Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists [NAPE].
